District Attorney General Mike Bottoms Addresses Club

District Attorney General Mike Bottoms was the guest speaker at the June 1 meeting of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club. Bottoms presented an over view of the Eleventh Annual Southeastern Law Enforcement Training Seminar (SELETS) which begins June 4 and run through June 7 in Lawrenceburg. SELETS attracts law enforcement personnel from around the country and around the world to Lawrenceburg to hear seminars presented by renowned experts in the law enforcement field. On June 5, world renowned forensic expert Dr. Henry Lee, Chief Emeritus of the Connecticut State Police and Founder and Professor of the Forensic Science Program at the University of New Haven, once again will be a presenter at SELETS.
On June 6, SELETS presents "Cold Case Day" with presentations by Lou Eliopulos, noted forensics expert, consultant, author and developer of the Naval Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS) Cold Case Unit and David Rivers, retired Metro-Dade Florida Police Detective and internationally known forensic consultant and instructor. Paul A. Logli, Immediate Past President of the National District Attorneys Association and Susan Candiotti, veteran news correspondent for CNN News, will address the seminar June 7 on law enforcement and its relations with the news media.
Bottoms also gave an update of the Kiwanis Tennessee State Championship Barbeque Cook-off sponsored by AT&T which will be June 22 & 23 in Rotary Park. This is a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event and a qualifier for the American Royal and Jack Daniels Barbecue Cook-off.
