County Mayor Speaks at Rotary Club

Lawrence County Mayor Paul Rosson was the guest speaker at the November 30, 2007 meeting of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club. County Mayor Rosson had as his guest Matt Ragan, Field Advance for Governor Phil Bredesen's office, who was in town preparing for the Governor's visit to Lawrence County on December 4.
Rosson presented and overview of the issues currently facing the County. The issues covered by the County Mayor included the application for a $750,00 grant to extend utilities to the North Industrial Park; construction of a 50,000 square foot spec building to recruit industry; commencement of construction of the new jail, which should be completed in 18 to 24 months; the reopening of the old jail facility; the opening of the temporary jail; the renovation and new contruction for the County Archives building in the former First Farmers and Merchants Bank building in Leoma; and partnering with the Lawrenceburg Airport Board to build a new hangar.
