Mayor Proclaims World Rotary Day in Lawrenceburg

by Bob Augustin Jr.

Lawrenceburg Mayor Keith Durham presented the Rotary Club with a proclamation establishing February 23, 2008 as World Rotary Day in Lawrenceburg at club's regular meeting on February 22.  Mayor Durham read the proclamation to the club and presented the proclamation to club President Bill Phillips.

The Mayor praised the Rotary Club for its service to the citizens of Lawrenceburg, Lawrence County, and the world through its many chairitable projects and for its promotion of Lawrence County through the Middle Tennessee District Fair.    The Mayor also thanked the Rotary Club for its sixty year long partnership with the City of Lawrenceburg in supporting and maintaining Rotary Park and said that he looked forward to many more years of working together.

Rotary Club President Phillips in turn thanked the Mayor and the City Commissioners for the proclamation and said that in the next month or so the Club would announce another major improvement to the facilities at Rotary Park.
