Rotary Club Presents Perfect Attendance Awards
by Bob Augustin Jr.

The Lawrenceburg Rotary Club presented Perfect Attendance Awards to its member who had maintained perfect attendance over the past year at its July 13 meeting. Attendance Committee Chairman Harold Webb and Committee member Joe Gieske presented the awards.
In his presentation, Gieske reiterated Rotary's emphasis on the importance of attending weekly meetings. "Regular attendance, that is, active participation in club functions, is the key to a healthy and vital club," stated Gieske.
When a member misses a regular weekly meeting, he or she can make up the meeting by: attending another Rotary Club's meeting, attending an Interact Club meeting, by attending other specified club committee meetings, or participating in club projects, such as the Middle Tennessee District Fair, Crossroads of Dixie Walking Horse Show and the Rumble at the Crossroads Truck & Tractor Pull.
The Club presented a special Perfect Attendance Award posthumusly to Roy Smith Jr, who at the time of his death in April of this year, had 49 years of perfect attendance. Roy's widow Jewel Smith accepted the award.
