Titans' Mike Keith Visits Club
by Bob Augustin Jr.

Mike Keith, Voice of the Titans, presented a program on the 2007 Tennessee Titans football team at the March 30, 2007 meeting of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club . Mike immediately addressed the topic on the mind of most Titans' fans: the controversy surrounding Pacman Jones' lastest run-in with the law. Because of legal implications, that is, one is innocent until proven guilty, and Pacman's up-coming meeting with Roger Goodell, the Commissioner of the National Football League on April 3, the Titans have chosen to remain silent on the issue. He explained that all players, coaches, and even he himself as the team sportscaster were not just employees of the Titans but of the NFL. Consequently, any action or comments by the Titans Organization would come after Commissioner Goodell had made his ruling.
For the rest of the program, Mike talked about the upcoming 2007 draft. The Titans have the 19th, 50th, and 80th picks in the draft. He stated unequivocably that he had no inside information regarding the Titans possible draft picks and anything he stated was his opinion only and not that of Titans management. He thought that the Titans' First Round draft pick would be either a defensive end or a cornerback, but it would depend on who had been drafted already and who was still available. If a quality wide receiver was still available at the 19th pick, then they might possibly take him. It all depends on who is available when.
Mike Keith was named the 2006 TennesseeSportscaster of the Year. In addition to his play-by-play duties, Keith hosts the weekly Jeff Fisher Show and handles many of the daily Titans Reports on Titans Radio. He also writes a regular column for Titans Radio's web site, TitansRadio.Com. For more information on Mike Keith go to www.titansradio/mkeith.html.
