Rotary Honors Widows

by Bob Augustin Jr.

The Lawrenceburg Rotary Club recognized the widows of past Rotarians at its May 11 meeting.  Rotarian Joe Gieske welcomed the honorees and thanked them for their many years of service to the Club.   Gieske stated that there was no way the Club could ever repay them for their support, nor could we ever adequately express our esteem and regards for them.  Attending the meeting were Jackie Miller Gray, widow of Gifford Miller, Avalene Harwell, widow of Bud Harwell, Maggie Campbell, widow of Lloyd Campbell,Jewell Smith, widow of the late Roy Smith, and Melba Webb, widow of Dody Webb.

These ladies not only worked along side their spouses at the Middle Tennessee District Fair and numerous other Rotary projects, but they have continued to serve after the passing of their husbands.  The Rotary Club is indebted to these fine ladies for their continued support of our community and wishes to publicly acknowledge our everlasting appreciation.
